George Washington as Worshipful Master in the Masonic Temple - Masonic Art
How to Join

Freemasonry is an organized society of men, devoted to the principles of character building.  It's ideals of morality are so exacting that to think of a Mason as not being devoted to integrity and rectitude of character is a contradiction.  If you give no service to the Institution, you will receive little from it because character is developed far more by rendering than by receiving service.  Unless you are prepared and willing to give the Fraternity your constant and undivided loyalty, it would be better for you to remain outside its ranks.  You may say that we are insisting on this in advance of your full knowledge of its significance; but this is fully compensated for by the fact that we are, likewise, assuming much in your behalf, and we are prepared to admit our obligation to you in advance of actual fraternal association.

A petitioner for the degrees of Masonry must be a man who is able to provide a livelihood for himself and those dependent upon him.  He must be competent, responsible, discreet; of sound character and reputation; a good citizen, with a well-grounded religious faith; free from external controls, and devoted to the principles of brotherhood.  If this describes you, then you are already a Mason in your heart.  I invite you to join our fraternity.

Joining the Freemasons is easy, just ask a friend who is a Mason for a petition, or contact:
